I don't understand why it has to be either - or - either socialism or democracy. Why can't we combine things to get the best of each system?
Moreover, as we live in an era of the ascendancy of democracy and human rights, we must see that Taiwan has been a vibrant democracy with a democratically elected president and legislature.
