Obviously I've gone out of my way in my career to not look good, so it's always nice to, every once in a while, get the opposite going.
Mediocrity is now, as formerly, dangerous, commonly fatal, to the poet; but among even the successful writers of prose, those who rise sensibly above it are the very rarest exceptions.
