It is always more fun to play a bad guy than to be yourself as you can create a character unlike your own and be someone you are not for a change.
At home I am a nice guy: but I don't want the world to know. Humble people, I've found, don't get very far.
I came to poetry through the urgent need to denounce injustice, exploitation, humiliation. I know that's not enough to change the world. But to remain silent would have been a kind of intolerable complicity.
