Comedy is much more difficult than tragedy-and a much better training, I think. It's much easier to make people cry than to make them laugh.
But novels are never about what they are about; that is, there is always deeper, or more general, significance. The author may not be aware of this till she is pretty far along with it.
If you print money like in Zimbabwe... the purchasing power of money goes down, and the standards of living go down, and eventually, you have a civil war.
