Eight months later, having left Columbia, I was studying physics in a summer program and working in Colorado when I decided to enroll as a graduate student in biophysics.
I don't want to be put on a pedestal. I just want to be reasonably successful and live a normal life with all the conveniences to make it so.
I don't feel guilty about expressing myself in French; nor do I feel that I am continuing the work of the colonizers.
