For me, a dancer is part of an artist's entertainment - 'backup dancer' isn't even in my vocabulary.
The public needs art - and it is the responsibility of a 'self-proclaimed artist' to realize that the public needs art, and not to make bourgeois art for a few and ignore the masses.
I like working with an actor who doesn't do the oneupmanship. One who has no trick and gives a true, honest performance.
