My philosophy was, if I just do good work, someone will like it enough to employ me. It never made me famous. And I'm way, way too old now, mate. That boat's sailed.
The thing that got me over the hump was accepting that I had to do whatever I could to stay in the game.
I think we carry around the idea of being a Kid in the Hall as part of our identity. It's a big part of how we see ourselves now.
