I think that age as a number is not nearly as important as health. You can be in poor health and be pretty miserable at 40 or 50. If you're in good health, you can enjoy things into your 80s.
I'm sort of the comic relief after a hard day at work. My message is that it's OK to relax.
In the early ages, I believe not much thought was given to what man is and what his real functions should be, and what is the real purpose of his life.
