When I was growing up in the south Indian city of Madras, there were only two political parties that mattered; one was run by a former matinee idol, and the other was run by his former screenwriter.
It's easy for me to get along with chess players. Even though we are all very different, we have chess in common.
But I was feeling quite down at the time. I was living in L.A., which was kind of weird for me.
