When I come into the theatre I get a sense of security. I love an audience. I love people, and I act because I like trying to give pleasure to people.
But Italy is not an intellectual country. On the subway in Tokyo everybody reads. In Italy, they don't. Don't evaluate Italy from the fact that it produced Raphael and Michelangelo.
We must believe that it is the darkest before the dawn of a beautiful new world. We will see it when we believe it.
